Where’s the problem?

I was having tea with a good friend of mine the other day and we were talking about “problems.”  North America is currently in an Economical “Problem”.  Obese people have an eating “Problem.”  Depressed people have a thinking “Problem.”  Etc, etc, etc…

I’m not convinced.

I asked my friend, if I were to walk across the street and get run over by a truck and leg was completely crushed, would this be a problem?  He said it would.  Would you view this to be a problem?

The thing I don’t like about the word “Problem” is that too often it’s in reference to a situation that has a victim.  What’s the difference between a situation and a problem?  One has a victim.

If you’ve studied, or understand the destructive mindset of a victim mentality, you can understand why I don’t like the term “Problem.”  Going back to me on the side of the road with a crushed leg, I would call this a situation.  I see no victim.  I now have a challenge to over come, and new way of looking at life that never would have been possible if this situation would have occurred.

It all comes back to perception, the way we look things.  Life is either that of abundance, or that of scarcity. You are either the student of life, or the victim of circumstances. Every situation is either that of a crisis, or that of an opportunity.

I would like to send out a challenge to all my readers.  Please send me your story.  Send me the situation you find yourself in, maybe you’re struggling with finding the silver lining.  I’ve been told I’m an optimist at the worse of times. :)   If you send me your story, I promise not to share ANY personal information or any detail that could expose who you are, but would like to use your story as an example of how to look at the brighter side of life.
