To Give or Not to Give
Written by: Jean-Pierre Gregoire
Greetings My Precious Ones.
It has been said that the power of a gift is such that it can transform one’s life in an instant.
Very few are aware that a gift has two components. A gift given in Love must also be received in Love in order for the transaction to be successful. Giving simply for the sake of giving can create problems for the Giver and the Receiver. The giving of love is a spiritual expression of the greatest significance. Love is real, has substance, is qualitative and can be quantified - it is in fact, measurable. Hearken my words O’ Blessed Children; the indiscriminate giving of warm love can lead to spiritual bankruptcy.
I will illustrate what I mean by relating an experience I had several years ago when I was applying for a job at a large, very successful local firm.
I entered the office of the personnel manager and asked, “Does the company pay for my medical expenses?” “No, those costs are your responsibility,” he replied. “We deduct it from your wages every month.” “What!” I exclaimed. “My previous employer covered those expenses on my behalf.” “That’s most unusual,” the personnel manager said. “How much vacation pay did you receive?” “Six weeks,” I replied. “Did you get a bonus?” he asked. “Yes,” most definitely” I said. “Not only that, they gave all of the employees a yearly bonus, awarded us with a turkey at Christmas, gave us the use of a company car, threw a free company barbecue for us each year and paid for a huge celebration on our birthdays.” “Goodness gracious. Why did you ever leave this firm which demonstrated such unheard of generosity?” he asked. “Well,” I replied, “They went bankrupt of course.”
The lesson is that we should only give Warm Love to those who nurture it, appreciate it and return it. Less evolved beings will quickly take our love, abuse it, and use it for their own selfish gains.
Love is a Gift from God, which we share with others. But, since we are not God we must learn discrimination.
The spiritual secret is to do our very best to extend goodwill to all living beings and extend warm love only to those who return it. The result is a cycle of creative energy, which attracts like-minded and like-hearted Souls.
This giving of love and goodwill, at the appropriate times, uplifts all concerned, while blessing all Life with a warm, loving blanket of spiritual protection.
May the Spirit be with You in All Ways.
