In March 2005, the founders of Club Penguin set out to create an ad-free, virtual world where children could play games, have fun and interact. As Internet specialists and parents, they wanted Club Penguin to be a place they'd feel comfortable letting their own children and grandchildren visit.
After months of consultation, research and testing, Club Penguin opened to the public in October 2005. Thanks to great reviews from players and parents, word quickly spread. In March 2006, Club Penguin launched on Miniclip, the world's largest online game site, and rapidly became its number one game.
In August 2007, Club Penguin joined the Walt Disney Company in a partnership designed to provide access to unprecedented resources and unique development opportunities.
Less than a year later, in April 2008, Club Penguin opened its first international office in Brighton, England, in order to provide localised player support and moderation

The mission of the Beer Bard's Privateers is to further interest in maritime tradition, knowledge and study of sailing history. To become an integral part of community events, not just in our own neighborhood but abroad; To delight and encourage active participation in maritime arts; To engage in Carta Caritatis (the Character of Charity) and help the community (children's charities, food bank, hospital) whenever possible.
The Beer Bard Privateers are a small band of naval history re-enactment enthusiasts of all ages, that exist within the framework of other historical groups such as the: Society of Creative Anachronism, and Renaissance Faire. We are based in the Kingdom of AnTir (British Columbia), in the Shire of Danescombe (Kelowna) and attend events, conduct classes, demonstrations, entertain and seek to enhance our knowledge of the naval arts & sciences from the 16th and 17th Centuries. The focus of The Beer Bard Privateers is a sailor's life from the late 16th century, up to and including the mid-1700's.

We are dedicated to providing dynamic, hands-on science programs for the children and families in the Central Okanagan of British Columbia, Canada. Our science programs focus on all fields of science and on introducing youngsters to future career opportunities. Through positive and interactive programs we enthuse , provoke and inspire children to explore and pursue their interests, their knowledge and life-long learning. Our environmental science programs are field-based with visits to natural areas within the Central Okanagan.
