Sailing

KYC is located in Kelowna, British Columbia, in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, a region renowned for its orchards, vineyards and spectacular scenery. We are situated near the mid point of Okanagan Lake, which is more than 80 miles long and has in excess of 200 miles of shoreline.

2008 will mark our 63rd year of boating and socializing at KYC. A major change in 2006 was an increase in our regular membership from 800 previously, to a new level of 1000. Our membership wait list is now smaller than ever and we are accepting membership applications from those who wish to participate in the largest yacht club in the Okanagan Valley.

The first several years of COSA's existence was based out of the old sea plane base, on land that is now the Grand Resort. In April of 1984, COSA and the Kelowna Rowing Club joined forces to create the Central Okanagan Small Boat Association. A year later, COSA purchased eight flying juniors from the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club.

DSA seeks to deliver a unique experience for adolescents and adults with disabilities. Four specially adapted sailboats offer individual and companion sailing for sailors with any form of disability. Additionally, these specially adapted boats are used in conjunction with COSA’s Learn-to-Sail programs, ensuring that both disabled and able-bodied students have the opportunity to learn together.

We are a non - profit Society dedicated to the promotion of small boat, catamaran and dinghy sailing. We offer family and individual memberships, storage/moorage, Youth & Adult learn to sail, and regular racing. We are located on the East shore of the Vernon Arm of Lake Okanagan in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada.
