Visiting Kelowna is a special treat for those with a passion for food. The Okanagan is one of Canada’s largest fruit growing regions, with dozens of roadside fruit stands greeting visitors, spring through fall.
If you are interested in seeing how local residents have transformed their love of food into viable businesses, visit Caramoomel or The Jammery. At Caramoomel, you’ll discover how three generations of women have built a successful cottage industry, preparing and packaging wonderful specialty spreads, from veggie caviar to ice wine jelly.................

Blair grew up in the downtown core of Kelowna BC. He has always been an avid follower of social issues big and small. He is also an avid follower of Canada's indie hip hop scene. He has volunteered for CIRO where he was a program director and hosted a hour long hip hop show. He spent a year as News Editor of UBCO's Phoenix newspaper. His attempts of writing started when much to his surprise, a postcard story he wrote was selected as a finalist in a national short story competition and later published (to the ire of all the artsy kids in his grade 12 creative writing class).

Bicycles for Humanity is a movement that empowers many in Africa with the simple gift of mobility. I am also a huge Steve Jobs and Apple fan and have been for over 25 years and will always be. I faithfully read every day, every word written about Steve Jobs and Apple and I always will. Like everyone, I pray that Steve has a quick recovery and and is with us for a long time to come.
I'm writing to share with you how Steve has impacted Bicycles for Humanity and how we believe that Apple and it's team have learned the same lesson. On our home page, you will see a link to the speech Steve made at Stanford. Do what you love, stay hungry, stay foolish and don't get bogged by dogma and other people's dreams.

Welcome to the web site of the Association of Citizens for Summerland. The Association believes that Summerlanders enjoy a very special quality of life, and it will work to preserve and enhance that lifestyle. It recognizes that the vitality of Summerland does not depend upon growth and development.
Its mission is to support a safe and healthy community with a sustainable economy; to conserve farm, forest and ranch land; and to protect natural resources, fish and wildlife habitat.
The Association will support development and change if it enhances and improves Summerland’s small town character, friendly ambience and rural nature.

Ralph Hass is the upbeat MSG-TV imaging voice of one of the NHL's best young hockey teams: the Buffalo Sabres. He is in his third season with the team. Ralph also worked for the NFL's Buffalo Bills for the 2008 season by providing game recaps during the "Thurman Thomas Show" on US affiliates for ABC-TV and CBS-TV along with Citytv in Toronto. Besides sports, longer narration projects like corporate videos and eLearning modules make up Ralph's niche market.

This "blog" is created by Jason Lane (a music lover living in Kelowna, BC), with the hope of compiling all the information that is floating around out there about upcoming concerts in Kelowna. This could be everything from big shows at Prospera Place, to small cool independent shows. There are many sources for this information out there now, but no one place to get it all.

There has always been discussion between historians as to the origins of karate, some believing that it could have originated from many different parts of the globe. Suggestions that ancient Greek fighting styles, however, contributed to the development of karate seem implausible and even ludicrous when you bare in mind the difficulty of travelling long distances over a thousand years ago. When exploring possibilities as to the source of original karate you must also bear in mind the differential development of fighting styles across the globe. It would have been inevitable that people had to learn how to fight; this does not mean that all international fighting styles are inter-related. With this in mind, here is an historical overview of karate, and later, the Shotokan style.

We live in Kelowna, BC and have been filming weddings since 2004. We met when we were 14 and as a joke we agreed that one day we would get married. Apparently we weren't kidding because on June 22nd, 2003, that day would actually come true! On that day we hired videographer's for our wedding and from that moment on, we were sold on the idea of a wedding video. We can speak from experience that having a video to look back on is by far our favorite item to have. Our goal is to provide you with a unique, modern, candid and creative video with a cinematic feel to it. To go hand in hand with videography, Melanie is also a certified makeup artist and nail technician so together we are able to meet a number of your wedding day needs. Now that you know a little bit about us, if you have any questions and would like to meet, we would be happy to and get to know you better as well.

Real estate sales in the Central Okanagan market were slow once again in the month of January. Consumer confidence has been rattled in recent months with the media reporting job losses, stock volatility etc. The "doom and gloom" that the media continues to spin on a daily basis gives the impression that purchasing a home is very bad idea! The flip side to this is interest rates are at a 50 year low, inventory levels allow more choice than in the past and home prices are more affordable than they have been in recent years! All in all it truly is a great time to invest in real estate.

We believe that every human being has value and is worthy of respect and honour. The heart of that conviction rests in our belief that we are all created by God. However, we live with a healthy awareness of the fact that we drop the ball, mess things up at times, and may need help to make it through life.
