Alex Miller

I grew up in Mississauga (just outside of Toronto), but have been visiting Kelowna since my Dad moved here in 1996 and I eventually followed him out here In 2005 to work with him. We build and manage seniors housing developments here in BC and in Ontario. I recently got married (Sept 08) to my highschool sweetheart, Emma, who is an occupational therapist at a long term care facility.

My love of food goes back as far as I can remember. Both of my parents loved cooking and baking, so that's probably where my interest came from. As much as I enjoy cooking, nothing is more satisfying than eating delicious food. In Kelowna, we're blessed to have a great selection of restaurants.

I am an active member in the Kelowna Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce - www.kelownajaycees.com) and this year have the honour of chairing our 3rd Annual Smoke on the Water BBQ Festival (www.smokeonthewater.com) down at Waterfront Park on Fathers Day. I truly believe that this event will become the premier food event, not just in Kelowna, but anywhere in the Interior of BC.
